From Jenny's desk

How much are unreconciled books
actually costing you?

$200,000
the income error hiding in one local business's "finished" books

A new client's books had never been reconciled — not once. The cleanup found duplicated expenses, broken bank rules, and income off by roughly $200,000. He'd likely been paying taxes on numbers that were never right.

When we asked for bank statements he said, "Is it normal for a bookkeeper to ask for all of this?" Yes. If yours never has, reconciliation isn't happening.

Check your own books in 10 minutes

If you're on QuickBooks Online, you can spot the warning signs yourself:

  1. Open Books Review. Uncategorized transactions or missing payees mean no one's minding the ledger.
  2. Open Account Reconciliation. "Months ago" — or "never" — is your answer.
  3. Look at your Balance Sheet. If it doesn't make sense, the pretty P&L doesn't either.

Not sure what you're looking at? Jenny will look with you.

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers.

How far behind can my books be?
As far as they are. We regularly take on books that are months — sometimes years — behind. Catch-up work is a specialty, and there's genuinely no judgment.
Do you work with messy books?
Yes — messy books are most of what walks in the door. We correct miscategorized transactions, resolve duplicates, reconcile every account, and keep things tidy going forward.
How often will I receive financials?
Monthly. A Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet each month once your accounts are reconciled — and we'll walk through them with you so the numbers actually mean something.
Do you communicate with my CPA?
Absolutely. We deliver clean, tax-ready books and answer your CPA's questions directly, so you don't have to play middleman at tax time.
How do you price your services?
Flat monthly pricing based on the size and complexity of your books. You'll get a clear quote after a free 30-minute diagnostic review — and no surprise invoices after that.
